NiyoRah is a dynamic singer, chanter and MC who is also a member of St. Thomas' Star Lion Family. On this amazing debut album, NiyoRah's songs delve into a wide range of issues, including cultural living, love for nature, the prison crisis, strengthening of all peoples, especially Africans, and spiritual growth. NiyoRah has the exceptional ability to share his messages through a “triple-threat” vocal delivery of smooth singing, intense chanting and skilled MCing. NiyoRah flows over equally diverse musical arrangements that are freely influenced by roots reggae, hip hop, dancehall, jazz and soul. The album is largely produced by Laurent “Tippy” Alfred, alongside and several other musicians and producers affiliated with I Grade, including bassist Kenyatta Itola, drummer Astor Campbell, bassist Gregory “Mr Bassie Jackson, and legendary multi-instrumentalist Tuff Lion. M-1 of the hip hop duo dead prez co-produced one of the lead singles: “Clowns Around Us." |
