Let Live is the fourth collaboration album between Midnite and I Grade Records. A truly ground-breaking collection of songs, Let Live pushes, crosses and destroys the boundaries placed on typical reggae music. This majestic 14-track album brings musical and lyrical life to the many forms that make up the living body of Black music. The unique blend of roots, jazz, hip hop and African drumming on Let Live create the perfect musical foundation for Vaughn Benjamin's incomparable chants of truth. The players of instruments on Let Live include I Grade producers and musicians Tippy I, Kenyatta and Abja. Also represented on several tunes are Midnite players: Abijah Hicks on guitar and Phil Merchant and Dion Hopkins on drums. Guitarist Tuff Lion and former Burning Spear touring bassist, Gregory "Mr. Bassie" Jackson are featured on several selections as well. The downbeat production collective - a unique crew of musicians assembled by M1 of the hip hop group dead prez - contributes 2 riddims to the album as well. |
